So in grand super-organized Virgo fashion, I headed out to the Halls of Commerce (aka University Park Mall in South Bend) to cross a few items off the holiday shopping list. Ordinarily I wait until Black Friday and then drag my dorsal out of the rack at oh-dark-thirty in order to power-shop all day in order to check off all names on the list in one day. I like to mix it up, though, and frankly the media clanging the "no good sales on Black Friday" rant over and over has me a little bit spooked. I need to move past that, though, since Halloween was two weeks ago and I'm all out of leftover trick or treat snacks. At any rate, if I finish all the shopping before U.S. turkey day then I can drag my dorsal out of the rack at oh-dark-thirty in order to go buy some cool toys and gifts at bottom dollar just for myself. And then I can go home and take a nap. The older I get, the more I value those naps.
Anyway, tonight I'm going to try to continue my streak of being proactive. I'm planning to plop myself in front of the TV in the home tank and wrap up the goodies for those in my good graces this year. Usually, I wait until "It's a Wonderful Life" or "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" is on, but again, I like to mix it up. I'm going to do it in front of Hawaii Five-0 (aka Hunky Five-0) and pretend I'm spending the holidays at Waikiki with Daniel Dae Kim taking turns with Scott Caan rubbing oil on my back and serving me froofy drinks. Aww yeah. Happy holidays to me. :-)

Don't underestimate the power of naps. My life would suck without them. And, it doesn't really matter if it's you sleeping or the people that continue to annoy you. The peace comes with the silence that I like to call STFU. I should probably patent that one. :-)
